The reproducability of research is a mayor principle of science. Because data becomes an increasingly important part of evidence in research and the amount of data produced growth exponentially, one of the mayor challenges in data management for research data is to provide the requested level of reproducability of the data sources. The talk will describe the current status as well as the role of metadata and persistent identification in this context. The design of the research environments, like BExIS is, has a great influence for scientists to leverage these concepts.
