BExIS 2 is the completely redesigned and refactored successor of the earlier Biodiversity Exploratories Information System (BExIS). The BExIS 2 system is based on a newly designed architecture to be more generic and meet modern software standards in terms of scalability, modularity and interoperability. Following the data-life-cycle concept BExIS 2 contains features for data collection, discovery, dissemination, integration, quality assurance and research planning.
In this presentation we will provide an overview of current and planned features and capabilities of BExIS 2. Also, we will briefly describe the software development process and how to participate.
