Offener Haushalt Jena - now online!

Now Jena’s budget can be explored in a graphical manner: “Jena’s Offener Haushalt”. Where before you had to find your way through 800 pages in the report, each citizen can check the finances of the city by navigating through a Treemap.

In cooperation with the city council Jena we developed a visual representation of the city’s budget. Since last Friday it can publicly be accessed on their website.

At this point we want to thank the students, that helped to develop this application: Sylvia Poßenau, Daniel Baak and Markus Freitag. In the course “Verteile Spezialisierung II: Open Data” they created the prototypes, that now resulted in the current application.

Results of the cooperation with the city council Jena now online: Citizens can explore the city’s budget in a graphical way.
