Abstract:

This paper reports a novel visual metaphor of parallel views
on open student models and a new design of the IntrospectiveViews interface
implementing this metaphor. The interface allows visualizing not only the
student’s own model, but also displaying parallel views on the models of her
peers and the cumulate model of the entire class or group. In the paper, we
describe the application of parallel IntrospectiveViews for visualizing models
representing student progress on the QuizJET parameterized questions.
